This sanskar is performed for the fulfillment of one's parental obligation and a continuation of the human race.
During the third or fourth month of pregnancy. The Punasavana sanskar is performed for the physical growth of the child.
This sanskar is performed during the 6th or 8th month of pregnancy for the mental growth of the child.
This sanskar is done to welcome the new born child and father writes OM on the tongue of the child with honey .
In this sanskar the child is given a name. This sanskar should be performed on the 11thday or 101th day or in the next year when the child completes one year.
Here the child is taken outside the home for the first time to be exposed to the different elements of nature.
Anna means ‘food’ and prashana mean ‘eating, feeding’ thus, giving solid food to the child for the very first time performs this sanskar.
This sanskar can be performed between the ages of 1-3 years old. In this sanskar the hair from the child’s head is shaved off for the very first time.
Ears of the child is pierced with the help of a golden needle for the protection of the child and to make the child wear jewellery in the ear.
This ritual is performed at home after Agnihotra. The primary function is wearing of athe sacred thread signifying the beginning of their pursuit of knowledge.
The aim is to develop the child culturally from all points of view so that the child is ready to face all challenges of married life.
This sanskar is performed upon return of the child after completing his education.
This is the union between a male and a female for the purpose of campanionship, procreation and redemption.
At this stage, the person should start detaching from worldly affairs and start leading a life of Tapa ( penance) and Swaadhyaay self education).
The person shuns the cover of attachment through renunciation of material desires and starts guiding the society with his genuine knowledge towards the path of self-realization.
This is the last sanskar. After the soul leaves the body the body is cremated and all the five elements of mortal body ( Air< Fire, Water, Saoce and Matter) are merged to the appropriate place.
